Pussies in need of a helping hand

It's life back to normal today, I've put the house back to how it was, after yesterdays shuffling things around. Me and Henry choc lab have been swimming, well he has not me, ha ha. And look who has arrived......

This puss was found in a shed with her four babies, no one knows where she came from. They are now temporarily housed in my lock up brick out house which is attached to the main house just outside the back door. There is a wire mesh up at the door so the door can be left open. I can pop in and out to check on them.

Aren't they just adorable. Mum is all colours and the kittens are a mixture.

Eyes down chaps, time for nosh. They all tuck in together.

Mum watches over, them from inside the cupboard without doors.

Well that's me stuffed, I'm off to bed. And so they all go to sleep after their food.

Sorry the photo's are not a very good quality, but I took them without the flash, didn't want to frighten them.

  1. Isn't a good job there are people like you in the world to take care of these little guys (and others! The photos are lovely, I hope you will find homes for them all soon.

  2. Too many people don't get their cats neutered and then just kick them out when they get pregnant. Thank goodness for people like you who look after them until homes can be found.

I have never bought a cat from a pet shop always preferring to take in a rescued one.

Let's hope you find homes for them soon.

  6. What adorable little bundles! They will hopefully find good homes. Unfortunately, this time of year they will not be the only ones that will look for stable homes. Most cat rescue places will be teamimg with cat families like yours. And now, with Easter on our doorstep there will be people going on holidays and leaving their poor pets to starve, home alone. I wish you good luck in finding suitable homes for these four and the mother cat, too.

  8. A kitten and a rose are two of the most beautiful things. These little darlings are no exception! I could take them all - however my fella, (the furry one) wouldn't take too kindly to an invasion of smallies.

  13. What gorgeous cat and kittens. Thank you Ilona for being there for them. I hope they get good homes. It's such a shame that so many owners don't have their pets neutered..So many problems could be solved if they did.

  17. I've done quite a bit of cat fostering in the past, and all of my cats in the last 30 + yrs are rescued ones.
It's so rewarding though when Mum cat begins to trust you and then hopefully the kittens are rehomed and Mum is spayed and re-homed.
If I could afford to, I would gladly give your Mumcat a new home, she's lovely! (The look on her face seems to say, "I've landed on my feet here!").

    Well done Ilona!

  19. My most recent kitten came from just such a family. She was found outside in a box, dumped with her little grey brother. Good luck with rehoming these kittens. They are lucky to have you!

  20. It's good to see so many cat lovers leaving comments, I am nothing special, though it's kind of you to say so. I have just been out to feed them, and mum was standing on her back legs at the mesh trying to tell me something, she seemed a bit distressed. I climbed in and checked round and found the black one had gone behind the door and couldn't find it's way out. Mum soon calmed down when she got her baby back, and they all tucked into Whiskas kitten food.
